This is an baby yoga massage class guided by Vera, a certified Yoga Teacher and Infant Massage Instructor. Baby massage offers a wonderful experience and a special time to communicate both verbally and non-verbally with babies, so they feel loved, valued and respected. Vera offers a relaxed, supportive and nurturing environment where parents can share experiences and learn:
- Relaxing massage strokes for legs, feet, stomach, chest, arms, hands, face and back
- A short and effective colic relief routine
- Gentle yoga movements and touch relaxation technique
- The best time and for how long to massage
- What massage oils to use
- How to adapt the strokes for the baby's individual needs and the growing child
- The history and the benefits of infant massage & bonding elements
- Infant’s development, behavioural states, cues and reflexes
The baby massage course consists of five sessions lasting 75 minutes. Each session is held at weekly intervals to allow you and your baby to absorb all the information and adapt to the feeling of massage. The recommended age for this course is from birth to one (or 7 years old for children with special needs). This is a wonderful opportunity for you to bond with your baby, build confidence over 5 weeks, connect with other parents & caregivers (group classes), communicate with your baby through nurturing touch and incorporate this joyful and wonderful healing art into your baby’s life.
Vera is a Certified Infant Massage Instructor trained with the International Association of Infant Massage (IAIM) and shares the belief that every baby deserves respect, tenderness, warmth and a listening heart.
The IAIM baby massage course is a well-respected, well researched and has been endorsed to be a high-quality parent education program. The IAIM baby massage course draws from both the Indian and Swedish massage traditions, as well as incorporating principles from yoga and reflexology.
